ESS is the largest dedicated provider of substitute staffing to K-12 school districts. NRESC member districts can expect a substitute program that eliminates the administrative burden of identifying, recruiting, training, disciplining, payrolling, and managing a pool of employees – all while providing transparent and accurate reporting of performance.

Districts that are members of the Northern Region Educational Services Commission (NRESC) can begin purchasing substitute teaching services through the ESS program using the NRESC procurement number #293NRESC. If you are not a member of the Northern Region Educational Services Commission and would like to join the NRESC Cooperative Pricing System, your district must pass a resolution.

Advance Education Advisement provides substitute Certified School Nursing services on an “as needed” basis. All the nurses hired through Advance Education Advisement have experience working in the school setting. They can diagnose and treat mild conditions and ensure students move on to appropriate medical treatment for more serious mental health conditions or physical injuries.

Nurses will work with the Principal and Primary Physician to maintain student health records, keeping rack of immunizations and reporting any communicable diseases to the Health Department. Nurses will carry out written orders of the medical home and
standing orders of the school physician when needed. All nurses will conduct health screenings, including height, weight, blood pressure, hearing, vision, and scoliosis, and recommend to the school principal exclusion of students who show evidence of communicable disease.
